Where we come from
A mission born from the bedside
Compass Care was founded by nurses and healthcare professionals who spent years working in Vermont's Critical Access Hospitals — the small, ~25-bed facilities that serve rural communities where the nearest large hospital can be an hour away.
We saw firsthand how staffing shortages strained these hospitals and the communities they serve. We also saw how the right travel nurse — someone who understood the culture of small-hospital care — could make an immediate, lasting difference.
So we built an agency specifically for that mission: connecting experienced, compassionate nurses with the hospitals that need them most — from Vermont to the Pacific Northwest and everywhere in between.
